SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized World organ donation day on the basis of theme “Step up to volunteer, need more organ donors to fill the lacunae”. The programme held at Rural primary health and research Centre,Punjai sangeenthi, Trichy on 25/08/2023 from 10.30am to 12.00pm. Dr. Ravichandran, M.B.B.S, Medical officer delivered expert talk from his profound knowledge on the importance of organ donation. B.Sc. Nursing students depicting poster presentation on organ donation, importance and methods of organ donation. They also performed a skit regarding organ donation. Nearly 100 people were participated this programme. People cooperated throughout the programme and benefited.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing Organized National Population Day on12.07.2023at 11.00am to 12.00pm in Singaravel Nagar, Samayapuram, Trichy.B.SC (N) II year students delivered a speech and health talk on population control methods, Measures to follow the proper contraceptive methods. Presented health education on temporary and permanent contraceptive methods with use of flashcards. The community people were got clear Knowledge regarding contraceptive methods and its importance in current population explosion and their role in reducing the population. All participants cooperated well throughout the programme.

SRM Trichy College of nursing organized World hepatitis day on 28.07.2023 at 10.30am to 12.00pm, in Govt Primary School, Punjai Sangenthi. The theme of this year is ‘One life, one liver’. About 70 students from Primary school were participated in this programme.B.Sc (N) II Year students performed skit and puppet Show regarding Hepatitis and Gave health education on dietary management. All the students were studious and benefited and gained Knowledge regarding Hepatitis. All participants cooperated well throughout the programme.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized the National Population Day on 11.07.2023 between 11.00 am and 12.00 pm in Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Trichy. The theme of this year is “Unleashing the power of gender equality: Uplifting the voices of women and girls to unlock our world’s infinite possibilities”. Our 4^th Year B.Sc. Nursing Students were created awareness regarding family planning methods through health education and posters. The mothers who attended the OBG OPD, Postnatal ward mothers and their caretaker were benefited from this programme. The program was highly influenced the participants and many were motivated to undergo family planning in future.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized seminar on international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking on 01.07.2023. Mr. Karan Louis Mr.J.Karanlouis MSW.M.Phil community mental health worker, Athma hospital, Trichy gave expert talk on the theme “Doing Drugs Is Literally Relaxing To Death”. He explained about drug abuse, causes and treatment. The seminar was very interesting and useful. He discussed with students and clarified their doubts. He created awareness among students and encouraged them to refer drug users for de-addiction treatment.

The practice of cultural activities will surely perfect the academic career of the students

The annual cultural program Zenith Carnival 2K23 was held gorgeously in SRM Trichy College of Nursing on 30.06.2023 at Multi Purpose Hall. It was a week-long program. There were rangoli, Pot painting, Essay writing, dancing, comedy-time, extempore speech, poster and vegetable carving. There were hard competitions among the participants. Some events were held in groups. All the events were so exciting that the participants enjoyed them very much. At the end of the program, winners were awarded with prizes and certificates. However, everybody enjoyed the cultural function and highly appreciated the organizers. The program ended with National Anthem.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing along with TSRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre organized Awareness Rally on 27.06.2023 on account of World Vitiligo Day. 2^nd year B.Sc Nursing students participated in Rally programme. The IMA members gave information regarding Vitiligo and its management. The programme was informative. It created awareness for all the participants.

SRM Trichy College of nursing organized 1st Annual Alumni Meet On 23.06.2023 in the College Of Nursing Multipurpose Hall. The programme was commenced with TamilThaivazthu by our college choir followed by Lighting Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries. Dr.Suja Suresh, Principal, SRM Trichy college of nursing delivered an alumni address to all members present and impressed upon the alumni gathering, the challenges of entrepreneurship and the need for a strong alumni network.. Dr.Balasubramanian, Deputy Director, SRM Campus has given the special address to the alumni and staff members were also part of the event. Mrs.Savitri sivakumar, Director of U2CAN, Trichy has deliberated about International job opportunities for nurses. Mrs. Sarmila, Professor pondered the Significance of Registration to alumni. The event was a good blend of formal and cultural taking everyone down memory lane. General body meeting was held and the Alumni interaction provided a platform for sharing experiences, ideas, feeling and opinions. Various suggestions were given to strengthen the alumni network and work for mutual growth. 39 alumni made it for the event. The alumni meet was ended by national anthem.
