Zenith Carnival was organized in SRM Trichy College of Nursing by the Student Nurses Association (SNA), with active participation from both students and faculty members.  Zenith Carnival, a vibrant celebration where joy and excitement reach their peak! The Zenith Carnival, we believe in creating unforgettable memories. From exhilarating culturals to enchanting art displays, there’s something for everyone. Students dancing to live music, savouring delicious treats, or exploring unique crafts, the carnival offers a magical experience that transcends the ordinary.15 events were conducted for the students like Solo Dance, Mime, Mahanadi, Hair do, Wealth out of waste, Calligraphy etc. Students were participated in each event and exhibited their talent. Students were appreciated with the prizes for their performance.  At last the Emerald house holds the rolling trophy.

No.of Participants       : 90 Studens          Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of SRM Trichy college of Nursing conducted a debate competition on theme “BOOKS VS ONLINE“ an account of world Literacy  day on   16-09-2024, SRMTCON AUDITORIUM at 4 PM – 5 PM for the students of B.SC (N) students. Debate Competition aimed at fostering critical thinking, public speaking skills, and healthy competition among students. The event showcased the talent and eloquence of our students as they engaged in thought-provoking discussions on books vs online. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various classes. Participants were divided into two categories: Books and online, ensuring fair competition and appropriate level of difficulty. The debate followed a structured format, with teams consisting of three members each groups. The competition comprised multiple rounds, including opening statements, rebuttals, cross-examinations, and concluding remarks. Each participant was given a designated time to present their arguments and rebuttals, adhering to strict rules of decorum and time management. Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, judges, faculty members, and organizers for their invaluable contributions in making the event a memorable and enriching experience.

Annual Sports Meet Report 2024

          SRM Trichy college of Nursing, SNA unit organized the Annual Sports Meet in the month of July & August 2024. The students are divided in to four Houses namely Emerald (Green), Sapphire (Royal Blue), Amethyst (Purple) and Ruby (Red). Around 230 students participated in the track and field events. The Sports day was inaugurated by the Principal Dr.Suja Suresh Ph.D (N)., and led by Mr.Manickam, HOD of Physical Education. Conducted various sports competition like Throw Ball, Volley Ball, Hand ball, basketball, Kabaddi, Chess, Javelin, Carrrom, Kho-Kho, Shot put and Disc Throw. All athletic events were conducted on 27.07.2029. Remaining all the events was conducted as per schedule. Students were supposed to develop a passion of athletics and a spirit of sportsmanship as a result of this event. Students were participated actively and enjoyed well. Prizes were distributed to all the winners and runners during Zenith carnival celebration on 14.09.2024. Overall trophy was won by Ruby house.

WORKSHOP ON OVERCOMING CHALLENGES IN NURSING RESEARCH

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized  “Workshop on Overcoming Challenges in Nursing Research” on 11.09.2024 between 08.30 pm – 05.30 pm. Aimed to address common obstacles faced by nursing professionals engaged in research and to enhance their skills and knowledge. Around 192 members have participated including nurses, researchers, and healthcare administrators. Programme started with registration at 08.30 am. The programme was inaugurated at 10.00 am. Dr. Suja Suresh, Principal, SRMTCON welcomed the gathering, followed by the lighting of the Kuthuvialkku. Prof. Dr. N. Balasubramanian, Deputy Director, Dr. S. Revwathy, Dean, TSRMMCH&RC, Trichy, and Dr. Rajamani, Dean Nursing, felicitated the gathering. Dr. Susila.C, Principal, Billroth College of Nursing, and GC member in The TN Dr. MGR Medical University, gave the Chief Guest Address. The workshop successfully addressed significant challenges in nursing research. All delegates actively participated. Programme ended with feedback and valediction.

ONAM  CELEBRATION – 2024

Onam celebrated grandly and traditionally on September 13, 2024. The event was inaugurated with a lightening of the lamp by Dr. Rajamani Dean of Nursing education and Service, Dr. Suja Suresh Principal, and  Prof. Mrs. Devi. K Vice Principal, at 3.30 PM in the multipurpose hall.

Ms. Faritha Banu, a final-year student, delivered a welcome address. Thiruvathira by the BSc Nursing students, showcasing their talent and dedication.  The program also featured the significance of speech and other dance performances, the event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. N. Elakkiya, final-year student, who expressed her gratitude to the organizers and participants. The celebration culminated with a vibrant Chenda Melam performance, enjoyed by all participants.

The Onam celebration 2024 academic year was indeed memorable, filled with joy, tradition, and cultural splendor. It was a testament to the college’s commitment to preserving and promoting Indian heritage and culture.

Fun activities were organized to strengthen the bond between students and faculty. Both students and teachers participated enthusiastically, making the event enjoyable. World Suicide Prevention Day

On the occasion of World Suicide Prevention Day, SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a guest lecture to raise awareness about suicide prevention among future healthcare professionals. The event aimed to equip nursing students with essential knowledge and skills to recognize and intervene in potential cases of suicide, a critical issue in healthcare settings. III Yr B.Sc (N) Students performed mime on suicide prevention. Dr. Sandhya, a renowned psychiatrist, was invited as the guest speaker. With years of experience in mental health advocacy, she also shared her insights on the rising rates of suicide, especially among vulnerable populations. The lecture concluded with an interactive session where students had the opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts.

On this day, SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a school health awareness program at Government Primary School, Manikapuram. The program was conducted by the B.Sc. (N) IV year students. The program aimed to create awareness among the schoolchildren’s. The school health program contributed towards Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 4 to achieve good health, well-being, and quality education. The program started with a Tamilthaivalthu. A welcome speech was given by Ms. L. Prathipa. Students performed a skit regarding the child safety including road, electrical safety and child abuse. They also performed a Puppet show regarding the Worm Infestation. Ms. C. Nisha delivered a health talk on dental Carries. Dr.sujasuresh Principal interact the students and clarified the doubts .The Around 90 students actively participated in the program. The program was concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms.Praisellin jenita.M Feedback was obtained from the participants. The teachers and students appreciated the program and found that the session was very informative and useful. All participants cooperated well throughout the program.

NATIONAL NUTRITIONAL WEEK 2024

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized the National Nutritional week Program 2024 from 03.09.2024 to 06.09.2024 between 10.00am – 12.00pm.

Day 1: Health Screening campaign

Students possessed their height, weight, and BMI measured. They’re giving an explanation of BMI. Students are addressing their questions.

Day 2: fireless cooking competition

Students took part in a competition for fireless cooking. students were joyful and enthused.

Day 3: guest lecture on nutorious diet for all

  We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Gayathri Padmanaban, M.Sc., Nutrition & dietetics, Team Lead-Centre lab, to speak about Nutritious diet for all. The session was educational. All of the participants’ awareness was increased by this. All of the participants were cooperative during the entire program.

Day 4: food Expo (Whole Grains)

Students are excited about the community area’s food exhibition. The students engage the public.

ANTI RAGGING WEEK 2024

The Anti-Ragging Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SRM Trichy College of nursing from 12.08.24to 16.08.24. The event was organized to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of ragging and to promote a safe and supportive environment for all students. A slogan competition was conducted for the students and a selfie point was displayed on the college campus. A short film was displayed to the students. On 16.08.24 Awareness lecture was given by Ms. Priyanka Advocate. The activities conducted during the week significantly raised awareness about the detrimental effects of ragging.
