On June 14, 2024, at 11 am, SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized World Blood Donor day on the basis theme “20 years of celebrating giving: thank you blood donors!” Final year B.Sc. and first year DGNM Nursing students organized the program at Echampatti, Samayapuram, Trichy. They performed skit regarding blood donation and its importance. The final year B.Sc. Nursing student delivered a health discussion about donation of blood, campaign of volunteers and benefits of blood donation. Nearly 60 people took part in this program. The community people were cooperated throughout the program. They learned new things and had a great time.

SRM Tricky college of Nursing observed world thalassemia day with the theme, ‘empowering lives, embracing progress: Equitable and accessible thalassemia Treatment for All. ‘In observance of world Thalassemia day. The quiz competition was conducted among 2 ND year b.sc Nursing students. The students enthusiastically participated. It was quite interesting the gained much information out quiz program.

“Protecting children from tobacco industry interference”.

        On May 17, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., SRM Trichy College of Nursing hosted a slogan competition in honour of World No Tobacco Day. Our third-year B.Sc. nursing students took part in the competition. The participants profited and learned about the benefits of quitting tobacco. Throughout the program, every participant worked effectively together.

“Celebrating the Power of Community Kindness.”

      On World Schizophrenia Day, a panel discussion was held at SRM Trichy College of Nursing. Our third-year B.Sc. nursing students took part. The attendees benefited and gained knowledge on World Schizophrenia Day. All of the participants collaborated well during the program.

Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized “TREE PLANTATION on account of World Environmental day on 10.06.2024 at 4.00 pm in the college premises. Every man needs the oxygen for their life and Trees are the foremost source of oxygen as well trees help to reduce the level of co2. As we all know that the whole world is facing the problem of global warming and to recover from such problem planting the trees has become one of the most important today’s aspects. The theme of this year was “Our Land, Our Future. We are Generation Restoration,” .Based on the theme Tree plantation was done in our college premises by our beloved principal madam and vice principal madam. The students also placed bricks as barricades and each student took the responsibility to nourish and maintain the allocated plant. YRC coordinators and members were present in this occasion.

The First Graduation Day of SRM Trichy College of Nursing was held on 01.06.2024 at SRM Campus. The opportunity of welcoming the chief guest, dignitaries, graduates, parents and huge gathering was prestigiously taken by Dr.Suja Suresh, Principal, SRM Tichy college of Nursing. Dr.R.Shivakumar Chairman, SRM Ramapuram Chennai and Tiruchirapalli campus Presided over the function while Dr.Ani Grace Kalaimathi,  Registrar, The Tamilnadu Nurses & Midwives Council  was the chief guest where 93 Under Graduate Degrees and 20 Merit awards to 16 Students were distributed. The Chief Guest congratulated the graduates and also their parents for having made a choice to admit their children in this premier institution. She commended the quality of education and services offered by SRM Trichy College of Nursing, and said that they were privileged to graduate from this meritorious institution which stands for integrity and quality. She emphasized Visibility of nurses, Leadership and Research in nursing profession. Honourable Chief Guest also addressed the graduates and advised them to continue the services in the nursing field with dedication. The Principal administered the oath to the graduates. Mr.Niranjan, Co Chairman SRM Ramapuram Chennai and Tiruchirapalli campus, Chief Director SRM Ramapuram and Tiruchirapalli campus Dr.Sethuraman, Director SRM Trichy campus Dr.Malmurugan, Deputy Director SRM Trichy campus Dr.Balasubramanian and Dean Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre Dr.Revwathy also Participated in the ceremony.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing marked World Hypertension Day 23.05.2024 with the theme, “Measure your blood pressure accurately, control it, and live longer!” In observance of World Hypertension Day, a blood pressure screening was conducted for all the faculty members of  SRM Trichy College of Nursing followed by Pledge was taken by the faculty members and students. They have taken a Pledge to enhance the insight and awareness of the role of a health worker and the work they do, their care, concern and compassionate towards their profession.

Youth Red Cross (YRC) Unit of SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized world dengue day on 16.05.2024 at 4 pm. The source reduction witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 5 YRC members with the help of 58 B.SC (N) III year Students. Our B.sc (N) III year Students were created awareness about the reduction of source regarding dengue and carried out the following aspects like environmental modification, environmental manipulation and changes to human behavior have been used to mitigate the risk of dengue transmission. In and around of our college campus some of the water stagnant it were found and cleaned by B.SC (N) students and YRC members. This is a powerful larvicide that effectively controls mosquito larvae as the first line of defense against dengue. The source reduction was conductive to keep environment free from dengue virus.
