International midwives day was observed on the theme of sustainable midwifery: Caring for tomorrow’s World. Our B.Sc (N) IV year students conducted debate on “Presence of partner in labour room Vs Absence of partner in labour room”. The aim of organizing debate was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions improving the knowledge about labour process. The programme was so interesting with the exchange of students perceptive by equally stating ideas on “Presence of partner in labour room Vs Absence of partner in labour room”. Points presented were accepted by the spectators with cheers and claps.   

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a Skill Training programme on Intravenous Cannulation on 13.05.2024 between 02.00 pm – 05.00 pm. Dr. Sai., BD India Pvt. Ltd, explained the IV cannulation, and its complications in details and he demonstrated IV Cannulation. Students were actively participated and improved their skill.

On account of International Nurses Day 2024 intercollegiate competition was conducted on 7^th May at SRM Trichy college of Nursing. It was overwhelming to see that 12 Nursing colleges participated in this fest. The event included variety of competitions like group dance, group song, mime, pencil drawing, vegetable carving, Mehandi, short film, indoor games and outdoor games. The schedule of the program was planned such that all the competitions were organized in parallel sessions in separate rooms. The morning session began with registrations for the respective events. The participants were so enthusiastic and the evaluators had tough time to evaluate. The winners securing the first, second and third positions in each event were awarded trophies and certificates. The response received from various colleges and the feedback of the participants was positive which gave great boost to the institution. Overall the event was well organized and successful.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a Guest Lecture on World Malaria Day -2024 on 25.04.2024 between 09.00 am -11.00 am in Multipurpose Hall, SRMTCON. Dr. Grace Jebakani Sweety M.Sc (N), Ph.D, Professor in Community Department, Our Lady Health College of Nursing, Thanjavur gave an expert talk on the Theme “Accelerating the fight against malaria for a more equitable World”. She explained Malaria facts and figures in detail, control, and Eradication programmes. She discussed with students and cleared the doubts. The programme was exciting and useful.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a Seminar on Intellectual Property rights on 23.04.2024 between 11.00 am – 01.00 pm. Dr. Sakthipandi. K, M.Sc., M.phil., Ph.D, Professor, Physics Department, SRM TRP Engineering College explained in detail the Intellectual property rights, patents, trademarks, copyrights, and India’s official intellectual property website. Participants actively participated and clarified their doubts.

SRM Trichy College of Nursing Organized the World Malaria Day Awareness Programme on 25.04.2024 between 10.00 and 12.00pm at Echamppatti, Trichy.The Fourth year B.Sc. (N) students organized the programme. The students were performed Puppet Show regarding malaria and its preventive measures. They also performed Skit regarding Malaria preventive measures, control measures of mosquito breeding.  Ms.S. Elakkiya gave a health talk regarding prevention and management of malaria. Around 60 community people were actively participated and gained knowledge regarding malaria prevention and management.  All participants cooperated well throughout the programme.                                                                                                                                                  

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized the Faculty Development Programme on Mental Health for all 2024 from 11.04.2024 to 17.04.2024 between 10.00am – 12.00pm. This was a six-day programme where eminent speakers discussed various related subtopics in detail and a very beneficial experience for the participants. It provided insight into Mental Health for toddler and school children, mass media of mental health, adolescents’ mental health, environment, Urbanization of mental health. A feedback link was given to all participants and an e-certificate was provided.

World Liver Day was observed on 22^nd April 2024 at SRM Trichy College of Nursing to raise awareness about liver-related diseases. The theme for World Liver Day 2024 is “Keep your liver healthy and disease free”. The current year’s theme focuses on the need of regular well-being check-ups to prevent liver-related disorders. By keeping this mind, fireless cooking competition was conducted to prevent liver disorders. The students prepared variety of dishes. Fireless Cooking Competition successfully showcased the creativity, culinary skills, and commitment to liver health. Participants demonstrated a keen awareness of the link between diet and liver function, incorporating nutritious ingredients and sustainable cooking practices into their dishes. The winners were distributed with the prizes.

World Hemophilia Day – 2024 was celebrated on 17.04.2024. SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a “Panel Discussion on Equitable access for all: recognized all bleeding disorders”. In the Panel discussion Comprehensive management, Challenges, barriers, implications and measures, and care to overcome challenges were discussed. The session was very useful for all participants.

World Health Day 2024 Celebrated on  10.04.2024 under the theme of “My Health, My Right” in SRM Trichy college of Nursing .According to the World health Organisation, this theme aims to promote the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to health services, education and information. The slogan competition was conducted for the 3^rd and 4^th year B.Sc Nursing students .The winners were distributed with the awards and certificates.
