Challenges in Fecundity: Emerging Technologies and Clinical Advances

A Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) programme on “Challenges in Fecundity: Emerging Technologies and Clinical Advances” was successfully conducted by SRM Trichy College of Nursing on 16 December 2025 at 9.00 AM in the Multi-Purpose Hall.

The programme commenced with an inaugural session, followed by a welcome address delivered by Mrs. Shanthi P., M.Sc. (N)., Associate Professor. The scientific sessions were led by eminent resource persons from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, TSRMMCH & RC.

Dr. Dhivya Narbhavi, M.S. (OG), addressed ethical dilemmas associated with fertility enhancement and embryo selection. Dr. Salma Seikh, M.S. (OG), highlighted the clinical challenges involved in integrating artificial intelligence into fertility clinics. Dr. Swapna, M.D. (OG), elaborated on existing research gaps and future directions in reproductive technologies.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. Overall, the CNE programme was informative, well organised, and highly beneficial to the participants, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of recent advancements in fertility care.

Tamil Nadu 31st State SNAI Biennial Conference

The Tamil Nadu 31st State SNAI Biennial Conference was held from 14.08.2025 to 16.08.2025. The inauguration started on 14.08.2025 at 10.00am. The Special guest of the programme was Mrs.Vinothini, Deputy Collector, Dindigul, Mr.Manimozhian, Deputy Commissioner of Police. Dr.Ani Grace, President, Dr.Udhaya Kumar, Vice President and other Executive members were present in this conference. Overall 5500 students were participated. On behalf of SRM Trichy College of Nursing, our 35 students and two faculty members were participated in this conference. Our students given tough to other students in all competitions. Our 35 students participated in Asian Book of World Record in formation of TNAI Logo on 15.08.2025. Overall 3256 Students were participated in this Asian Book of World Record. At the final day, they honored the Zonal Coordinators and overall champions in each zone in valedictory function. The programme was came to end on 16.08.2025 at 2.00 pm.

Health Disparities And Equity

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organised Faculty Development Programme on Addressing Health Disparities And Equity – A Community Mental Health Perspective from 18.09.2025 – 23.09.2025. It focused on understanding social and economic determinants affecting mental health equity and developing strategies to promote inclusive and culturally competent mental health care at the community level. The eminent resource persons from various institutions shared their insightful thoughts and enriched the faculty members. The FDP successfully sensitized nursing faculty to the critical issue of mental health disparities and equity.

Changing the Narrative on Suicide

SRM Trichy College of Nursing, in accordance with World Suicide Prevention Day – 2025 conducted a mime program on 10.09.2025 under the theme “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” between 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the multi-purpose hall at SRM Trichy College of Nursing. The program included mime, speech on prevention and management of suicidal thoughts and followed by a passing balloon game which led it to a thought provoking moment. The student were engaged and curious throughout the program.

STATE LEVEL NURSING CONFERENCE

The State Level Nursing Conference on “Demystifying New Pedagogical Methods in Nursing Education towards Quality &Excellence” was organized by SRM Trichy College of Nursing on 26.4.25. The inauguration started at 9.00 am with lighting of Kuthuvilakku by the dignitaries and We are honoured to have Dr.R.Shankar Shanmugam JDME(Nursing) i/c &Principal, College of Nursing, Madras Medical College, Chennai, as our esteemed Chief guest, in his inaugural address emphasis on “Nursing practice is the most dedicated and compassionate profession. The credit hours awarded by the Tamil Nadu Nurses & Midwives Council was 6 hours. The registration started at 7.45 am with 600 registrants, faculty and staff nurses with RNRM, ANM and students from different institutions/ hospitals/ organizations were registered, followed by completion of pre-test. This conference focused about encapsulates the transformative shift in nursing education, emphasizing the adoption of innovative teaching strategies to enhance clinical competence, critical thinking, and overall educational quality in Nursing. Every session was very informative and delegates were actively participated .Session was ended with Valediction and National Anthem .“Being a nurse is the noble thing, do not dilute your dreams, work hard and make your dreams a reality.

CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION PROGRAMME

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organised CNE programme on “Innovations in Assisted Reproductive Technology” on 31.08.2023. The programme was started with Inauguration followed by lighting Kuthuvilakku and felicitation by the dignitaries. Session was taken by Dr.Dhivya Sethuraman M.D. (OG)., Professor, TSRMMCH&RC, dealt with the topic of  Recent Advancements in IVF, Dr.Banumathy, M.S. (OG)., Assistant Professor, TSRMMCH&RC presented about Recent Advancements in Female Fertility treatment., third session was regarding Ethics in Infertility & Pregnancy by Dr.Sukanya Mukherjee, M.D. (OG)., Professor, TSRMMCH&RC. The last session was handled by Prof. Mrs. Devi, M.Sc. (N),    Vice Principal, SRMTCON, regarding Role of Nurse in Counselling Infertile Woman. At last, the programme end with feedback session & certificates distribution.

Research Orientation Programme

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized a Research Orientation Program on Essential Tips for Writing Funded Projects on 30.08.2023. Dr. R.Krishnamoorthy, Dean ( Academic & Research), SRM Group of Institutions, Trichy)  updated and motivated all our faculty with tips and techniques for writing funded projects and empowered with the types of projects and the research opportunities available.  Everyone updated their knowledge and cleared their doubts.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON CBE: GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES

SRM Trichy College of Nursing organized International Seminar On CBE: Global Perspectives on 03.08.2023. Dr. Vidhya Thirunavukkarasu, Asso.Prof, College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia was the speaker of the day. She explained about Competence Based Education in Global Perspectives, the need and importance of CBE in nursing. All the faculty members and students gained knowledge. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. The seminar came to an end with National Anthem

ONLINE SYMPOSIUMON THE PATTERN OF COVID – 19

An online symposium, on the pattern of COVID – 19 was organized by SRM Trichy College of Nursing on 7th Oct 2020. Dr. RamchandraGoyal, HOD & MCI Cell, Trichy SRM Medical College & Research Centrewas the moderator. Dr. D. Santham Sweet Rose rendered her thought on retrospective view of COVID – 19.Dr. DeodattMadhavSuryawanshi presented on the present scenario of COVID – 19 and Dr. V. Raghuram, gave a brief and informative talk on the prospective view of COVID – 19. The programme was very informative and was attended by 156 faculty & students from different parts of India.

OBG WEBINAR REPORT

OBG webinar on Adolescent Health: Pertaining to Menstrual Problem was held on 23.07.2022 (11am to 12N). The first session dealt by Dr.Akshya Prabha.V., MBBS., DNB (OBG),  Senior Resident, Department of OBG, TSRMMCH & RC, regarding the topic on Adolescent Gynaecological issues. Followed by second session was dealt by Prof.W.Nirmala, M.Sc(N)., KMC College of Nursing, Trichy regarding the topic on Nursing Perspectives: Caring Adolescent menstrual issues. Totally 195 delegates were participated in this webinar. All the delegates actively participated and equipped their knowledge regarding the topic. Overall feedback is good.
