Breast feeding week (Aug 1st – 7th 2021) was celebrated with a variety of events at SRMTCON & in our hospital (3rd Aug 2021). One of the event during the week was the webinar on the topic ‘Protect breast feeding: shared responsibility’
- Our guest speakers Dr. Irin Light Christopher MSc N, PhD spoke on responsibility of the mother in breast feeding the baby and MsChithra MSc N spoke on care towards the child.
- Dr. Irin highlighted on lactation techniques and the different hormones involved in the process of lactation. It was a nice session and the participants gained knowledge through her session.
- We had MsChithra who spoke to us on the importance of breast feeding and how it is integrated for a Childs development.
- We had 280 participants from 18 institutions participating in the session. It was really enjoyed by all. We had the demonstration of how to handle a new born, the likes and the dislikes of the new born, and being gentle in handling them, when we care for them.
